Subcommittee Hearings

The subcommittee holds hearing on the bill. During these hearings they call experts, people who the bill would help, people opposed to the bill, and the representative who introduced the bill. They have been known to call celebrities to help raise awareness for a bill. For example, Stephen Colbert testified before a House Judiciary Subcommittee to help raise awareness for the problem of american people not wanting farm jobs held by immigrants.
